Lovable Now Fixes Your SEO Automatically. So Why Isn't Anyone Signing Up?
Lovable's built-in SEO review can fix indexing, metadata, and sitemaps in one click. Here's the exact category of problem it doesn't check — and how to find it on your own site.
Short answer: Lovable's SEO review checks whether your site can be found. It doesn't check whether your site can convince. Those are different problems, and fixing the first one doesn't touch the second.
If you built your site with Lovable after mid-May 2026, this probably isn't news to you the way it used to be. Lovable ships with server-side rendering by default now, and the built-in "SEO & AI search" panel can fix metadata, headings, canonical tags, and your sitemap in one click. The old advice — "your Lovable site is invisible to Google because it's client-rendered" — is going stale fast, and a lot of guides haven't caught up.
So if you've already run that review, fixed what it flagged, and confirmed your pages are indexed... and you're still looking at zero signups, this post is for you.
What Lovable's built-in SEO review actually checks
Lovable's SEO panel (powered by Semrush data) covers the technical layer:
- Page performance
- Metadata quality (titles, descriptions)
- Heading structure
- Image alt text
- Canonical tags
- Open Graph tags
- Robots directives
- Sitemap status
All of this answers one question: can a crawler read and index this page correctly? For most Lovable apps built in the last few months, the answer is now yes, automatically, without you touching a config file.
What it doesn't check
None of the items above ask whether a human visitor understands what your product does, trusts the page enough to hand over an email address, or can find a single clear next step. That's not a gap in Lovable's tool — it's just a different layer of the problem, and no automated SEO scanner (Lovable's or anyone else's) is built to catch it, because it's not a crawlability question.
Here's the split:
| Layer | What it answers | Who checks it |
|---|---|---|
| Technical SEO | Can Google read this page? | Lovable's SEO review, Search Console |
| Trust & conversion | Will a stranger act on this page? | Nobody, by default |
Fixing the left column gets you found. It does nothing for the right column. Most Lovable builders only find out these are separate problems after they've already fixed the first one and are still stuck.
How to check the second layer yourself
Open your live site as if you'd never seen it before, and go through this:
- Can you explain what this does in one sentence, without scrolling? A headline that describes a feeling instead of an outcome loses visitors before they understand the offer.
- Is there one obvious next step, not three competing ones? Multiple CTAs in different colors split attention instead of directing it.
- Would a stranger believe a real person or team runs this? No name, no photo, no single real detail (users, reviews, a specific number) reads as anonymous — and anonymous doesn't get trusted with an email address.
- Does the page say what happens after the click? "Sign up" asks for a blind commitment. "See your first result in 60 seconds, no card required" removes the uncertainty.
- Does it hold up on a phone, not just your laptop? Most first visits to a new site happen on mobile now, and Lovable's own conversion data shows mobile converting well below desktop on the same page.
None of these show up in an SEO review, because none of them are SEO problems. They're the reason a technically perfect, fully indexed page can still convert at zero.
Why this matters more now, not less
It's tempting to read "Lovable fixed the technical stuff" as good news and stop there. It is good news — it just isn't the whole story. As more Lovable sites ship with clean technical SEO out of the box, the sites that do convert will increasingly be the ones that also got the second layer right, because that's the layer competitors are still overlooking. Being indexed is now table stakes. It stopped being a differentiator the moment Lovable made it automatic.
The fix doesn't require a rebuild
Everything in that checklist above is a headline rewrite, a repositioned button, or one added line of copy — changes you can make in Lovable itself, in the same afternoon you'd spend on anything else. The hard part isn't making the fix. It's knowing which of the dozens of small decisions on your page to fix first.
That's the layer we built UXtion to check — an audit that looks at your actual page the way a visitor does, separate from (and complementary to) whatever your builder's SEO tool already handles, and hands you the specific fix to paste back into Lovable. Run a free check on your site →
FAQ
Does Lovable's SSR update mean I don't need to worry about SEO anymore? It means the crawlability layer is largely handled automatically for apps built after mid-May 2026. It doesn't cover on-page trust signals, conversion clarity, or anything a human visitor — rather than a crawler — evaluates.
My Lovable site was built before the SSR update. Do I still have the old indexing problem? Possibly. Lovable's documentation notes that older React + Vite apps rely on on-request pre-rendering served to verified crawlers, which is more limited than full SSR. Worth confirming your specific setup rather than assuming either way.
If Lovable's SEO review passes, why would my page still convert at zero? Because "passes SEO review" and "convinces a stranger to sign up" are answered by different parts of the page. A technically perfect page with an unclear headline, no trust signals, or a confusing call to action will still convert poorly — the SEO review isn't designed to catch that.
